Chincoteague
Play Misty for me. Just back from Chincoteague, VA, and the National Wildlife Refuge there. The place is famous for its wild ponies,
its lighthouse,
its oysters,
and its birds. Besides thousands upon thousands of snow geese, six life species: tundra swan, brown-headed nuthatch, carolina chickadee, royal tern, white ibis, and barred owl. We heard two of the latter, who-who-who-cooks for you?, thrilling, near sunset at Bombay Hook NWR on the way back today, and caught a very brief glimpse of both.
I have piles of photos. Selections to come.
