Kitchen goddess Nigella Lawson describes maple syrup sweetened egg-whites as making "the most fabulous, smoky, gleaming elegant meringue of all time, the color of expensive oyster-satin underwear."
I was not aware oysters wore satin. At least not in months with Rs in them.
