Could anything be finer than watching Jeanne Moreau walking through the ennui-darkened streets of Paris in Elevator to the Gallows? Certainly Julie Christie waiting in the rain for that damn fool Tom Courtney in Billy Liar equals the experience, but nothing tops it.
