Philly is a great place for the detail-orientated. They have a lot of murals, a long tradition of metal-working, and the good graces (every car stopped to let us cross the street!) to put it out there.
We travelled by Greyhoud. $30 round trip per. We stayed at a micro-B&B friends had recommended, and that was initially found on
AirBnb: $109.50 per night.
It was a delightful couple's house in a funky Williamsburg-like 'hood.
Lower cost of living there. I kept being surprised by the prices of things. Ten cent postcards at the Art Museum, for instance.
