The furcula, or wishbone, also known as the merrythought. This one is ornamental, and was given to me as a gift recently. Consider it: it's an arch, that wonderful architectural device to spread weight, making for strength without bulk. In a bird, it compresses and rebounds like a spring in rhythm to the beat of the wings. I vote for equal halves. May you live long and prosper in the new year.
