Terra Cotta on Pierrepont St

Over the formal entrance to the Brooklyn Historical Society, originally the Long Island Historical Society. These Olin Levi Warner sculptures were restored in 1998, and you can see before and after shots here.

Down the block at 114 Pierrepont, a Romanesque Revival confection of 1887, bee and comb.

I can't tell if that's an acorn cap or some kind of armor worn in the top picture, but whatever it is, it's hot, Brooklyn Historical Society Hot.
