Rat pack
Now I know many people freak out over rats, but if we Homo sapiens weren’t such pigs (no offense, Sus) there wouldn’t be thickets of rats living, and co-evolving, with us. In fact, without the rats, pigeons, gulls, crows, house sparrows, etc. that glean up after us, our human world would be drowning in our own garbage.
Anyway, my friend Marion swears by rats as pets. She also likes to draw them. This is recent work, on her backpack.

I will take Marion's word on the whole rat/pet thing. Having a Scottish Terrier, a breed that was bred specifically for killing vermin-- makes for unhealthy pet co-habitaion.
I prefer the Frances Albert variety when it comes to rat packs...
