End of the line
A fly of some sort, I think, not a bee, even though the color on the abdomen suggests bee. The eyes make me think fly, but the wings are confusing (flies have one wing per side, bees two, but they merge together in flight and look like one). But note how that abdomen color seems fuzzy. Is it a fungus? Diptera or hymenoptera, this is desiccated and bloated at the same time, attached to the underneath of a sunflower leaf. I’ve found another of these recently, and that one looked very much like a fly, and the flies are definitely to be found underneath the sunflower leaves when alive. Is this where flies go to die?
