Recession-depression busters

A. The public library.

B. Casseroles, baked pastas, & soup, all things that can be frozen and enjoyed again. (Makes for boring photos, though.)

C.Composting. (See above re: photos)

D. Very serious self-portraits. Think, “author photograph.” My Life as a Brassica.

Remind me of what type of camera you have there. You got it this summer, right? You happy with it?
How is the macro and how good is the shutter speed?

It's a Canon G9. And it's much smarter than I am. The macro is good, but a separate macro lens would probably be much better. Shutter speed seems to go up to 1/2500, although I usually just go with the automatic settings. I do like it, and wished I could learn more about it.
