Mostly red

I don't know what these are, but they are providing some of the only color in the grey thickets now on the Far Away Island.
Here they are cached in a bird's nest. Mice and other mammels will re-use old bird's nests, as will other bird species, for their own purposes. Most of your songbirds will build new nests every spring.
Just a couple of these apples were still holding on.
Hips of the beach rose, rosa rugosa. I only recently discovered that this is an introduced plant, originally from Asia.
Another unknown. Open this one up to look closer at the fringed whip-tail-wing.
