Blog-induced Gowanus Ramble

Inspired by Amarilla’s shot of a building I’ve never seen, I varied my wending-across-the-valley-of-the-Gowanus this evening and walked some streets for the first time.
Some instructions on Douglass Street.

This is peeling and mushrooming sign on the Douglass side of the Gowanus Pumping Station seems to be an old mascot for the canal rats.

Calling David Hockney! DeGraw between Nevins and 3rd.

Maine: Vacation Land Volvo on Sackett State.

This unintentionally truncated mural faces the "empty" lot at the NE corner Union and Sackett. Mural and strange plot of ground, with its two vents and slab of concrete and fire hydrant in the middle of nowhere, are all part of the Tunnel#3 complex, bringing us the good water of the north.

Wandering the city is one of the great joys of urban living. A couple more shots here for the hardcore geographers.
