I was walking in Vinegar Hill today. Cut off from the water by Con Ed and the Navy Yard, this remant neighborhood holds on. All these years in Brooklyn, and I'd never wandered over there. It is like Tom Wolfe said, only the dead can know Brooklyn. There's just too much of it otherwise.
