Actually, Penn is bigger than Ben. The statue, atop City Hall, which is behind the building you see here, is one of the largest in the world. From up there, he surveys his rational grid of a colony. For much of the 20th century, no other downtown buildings were taller, but now there is the usual forest of glass towers befouling his vision.
Over at Independence Park, other surveyors look down upon the city.
Dream Garden, the Maxfield Parrish-designed L.C. Tiffany-made mosaic in the Curtis Center. At 15'x49', it's epic in scope. Unfortunately, caterers had set up their buffet for an event in front of it, so viewing was somewhat marred.
