Gray ladies at Brooklyn pier

Who’s watching the approaches to the Zuider Zee? Down at the end of Congress Street, a minor flotilla of craft sent to celebrate the Hudson 400. Through the magic of the internet, I found these ships: from the front left, Canadian Forces Maritime Command coastal defense vessels Shawinigan MM704, and Goose Bay MM707; Royal Netherlands Navy frigates Van Speijk F828, and, jumping over to the right rear, Tromp F803; the Belgian Naval Component mine hunter Lobelia M921; and the Royal Norwegian Navy minesweeper Rauma M352.

Security looks tight, but will alterkockers rush the Canadians for cheap drugs?

A replica Halve Maen, meanwhile, is at Battery Park today.
