The moooovie starrrrr



Tropical weather calls for tropical solutions. Ginger beer. I grated a knob of ginger, skin on but scrubbed, till I had about a cup’s worth. To this I added 1 cup sugar, two cinnamon sticks, and a handful of cloves, plus six cups boiling water. Covered, this sat for an hour. Then I strained it, pressing the gingery mass to get out all the goodness. The results are quite hot and spicy, so you can water or seltzer this down. Or mix it with OJ. Or booze. I'm planning on experimenting with beer tonight. A little beer, a little OJ, a shot or two of the ginger beer, and voila, a ginger shandy...
