Jamaica Bay Flowers

Prickly pear in bloom.
Yes, the prickly pear is in bloom. Our only native cactus. Hurry!
Indian blanket, a.k.a. fireweed, with a fly. You're welcome to challenge me on this i.d.
Yucca. The stem can rise above six feet on these.
Butterfly weed, a.k.a. orange milkweed, a.k.a. chigger flower. (I think.) Hell, call it Asclepias tuberosa; the milkweed genus is named in honor of the Greek god of medicine.
