Waterfront

The French frigate Forbin, D620, docked off Atlantic Avenue this evening. Named after one of their admirals, who blockeded Venice, bombarded Trieste, and ransomed Fiume, and that was just during the War of the Spanish Succession. Later he was involved with James "the Old Pretender" Stuart's botched effort to gain the throne of England/Scotland/Ireland. Instead of the Catholic Scotsman, the German Protestants took the British throne with George I. (And the Krauts have held it ever since.)
Governor's Island ferry and Staten Island ferry passing with Ellis Island in the background. Not nearly as dramatic as the above.
Port Authority junk, anticlimactic.
