In the BBG, I saw a mosquito, several flies and gnat-like things, a butterfly (some kind of swallowtail, I think), gold fish, and these:
These are a bit desiccated, but they are the seeds of the giant sequoia. There’s one in the BBG and I happened to find a cone at its base. Imagine the mighty tree that could grow from one of these!
These are owl droppings (mutes) on Lee Krasner and Mel Brooks; was Jackson Pollock inspired by such splattering? No owl in sight, so maybe it uses the tree as a night perch.
