Botanical object
While this may look like some ancient kuri knife, it's only 3.5 inches long. I found it in the BBG and believe it's the core of some kind of cone or pod.
i think it's from a magnolia. there were lots of magnolia trees in savannah. the flowers die and become these large clusters of red seeds. the seeds fall off, and you're left with your ceremonial knife!

I played with those when a kid. Is it from a Tulip Tree?

Too large for a tulip tree, which do have smallish spikes. CR may have it. Here are some magnoilia fruits for your enjoyment.
I wonder what they're called.
