I'm so sorry. How is your father doing?

He is doing well. Thank you for asking.

For those of you who don't know, Albert was the family cat, and for the last 8 years my father has been taking care of him. We think Albert was about 15 years old, but nobody remembered when he joined the family from the animal shelter. It just seeemed like he was there forever. (It didn't help our memories that he looked much like our previous cat.) In his prime, he was a great killer of the local wildlife and honed his chops on all our calves. In his later years, he had a slow decline, but all in all, we think he had a pretty good life. Sic transit gloria mundi.
