You know, I thought She looked bigger than usual. The Moon is at perigee tonight, the closest it gets to Earth on its oval orbit. It is some 17,000 miles closer than average. According to NASA, tonight’s full moon is 14 times bigger and 30 times brighter than your average full moon. It was cloudier earlier when I walked through the valley of the Gowanus, but it is clear and cold now, as I hope these impressionistic hand-held shots suggest, and the Moon shines on Cobble Hill.
