Nice stamps

Modernism looks best on stamps, don't you think? I used to think Ray Eames was Charles Eames' brother. I also used to think Jimi Hendrix sang "''cuse me while I kiss this guy." Not sure which of these errors confued me more.

Knithound: From the Wiki-sters we learn: A 'mondegreen' is the mishearing or misinterpretation of a phrase, typically a standardized phrase such as a line in a poem or a lyric in a song, due to near homophony. It should not be confused with Soramimis, which are songs that produce different meanings than those originally intended, when interpreted in another language.

Emerson: Like Matt Groening's Akbar and Jeff, they are lovers, but unlike those fez-wearing lads, Charles and Ray are not gay. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Of course, cheap knockoffs of Mr. & Mrs. Eames' things can be gotten at an Akbar & Jeff's Mid Century Modern Tofu Hut near you. Trouble is, tofu chairs are very, very squishy.

Knit: I hate to break it to you, but Rod Stewart didn't sing "Bette Davis Eyes." Luckily, at least, there is a sanity clause, at least in my contract.
