Transcendental Grapes

Developed by Ephraim Wales Bull from native stock in 1849 in Concord, MA. It's that intriguing color, the blue-black skins under their blue-grey smoky patina, that I've tried to capture here.

The grapes were part of my CSA fruit share this week. The photo is an hour old, and the grapes are no more, having become a part of me.

They look fresh as the Birth of Venus.

I spent some time in Concord this august, swimming at Walden and pretending to be an Alcott daughter. Oh, to be young and transcendental.
