It's only a crepe moon

It’s not all about bugs here at the Bachelor. A man must eat, too. Those cicada’s might be crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, but…. Last night I made crepes for the first time in many a moon. Coincidently, it was a full moon last night, and the crepes reminded me of another moon, Io, one of Jupiter’s captives. These were savory crepes, from a Cook’s Illustrated recipe (from an issue I'd found on the street). I filled them with the vegetable mixture I had earlier put together: it was sort of a ratatouille, and had some of everything in it: red cabbage, onion, long beans, eggplant, green peppers, tomatoes. A white sauce, also from Cook’s, their Best Recipes collection, seeded with bits of raclette (a stinky-Frenchy-melty-cheese) smothered it all. Rather satisfying, and my dinner companion agreed.

Next time, it's going to be the sweet crepes.
