Sunday Later

S
aw Guy Maddin’s Brand on the Brain tonight. Not the live version, which was performed with interlocutor/narrator, band, foley artists, castrato, etc., (allegedly), but I liked Isabella’s VO here very much. It’s the best film of his I’ve seen, even surpassing Heart of the World, that five-minute whirlwind.

First time I’ve ever been to the Brooklyn Heights movie house. Passing fair, a little sound bleed from the theater next door, seats amusingly emblazoned “Pavilion.” I was pouring when I went there, and raining when we left. Her shoes were soaked through.
